Went to Genungs Fish camp for the first time and had such a great time. We went to rent kayaks for a few hours on the water and were supplied with everything we needed, kayak, paddle, life jacket and quick lesson on paddling and tides. Janine helped us and was fantastic. She even helped us in and out of the water! Great experience, especially for a first timer like me!
I brought my 22 year old daughter kayaking for her first time. Adam and Janine are awesome. The location is beautiful. Janine gave us all the necessary equipment, information about the tide, recommendations where to go, plus helped us into the water and was there to help us out when we were finished! Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful experience at Genung’s fish camp. We had a large group and Janine, Adam and Tom welcomed us, had everything setup and gave us instruction on proper paddling techniques, explained good routes to take maximizing our time and energy out on the water. This family run establishment is top notch. Kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, Live Bait , Tackle and Local fishing knowledge as well. They also Run a volunteer program to do beach and river cleanups keeping the waterways beautiful for future generations! We will definitely be back !
Super friendly. Good prices. They even have a free bait program!
We stayed in Crescent Beach for almost 2 weeks, and Genungs Fish Camp quickly became my go to place for bait, tackle, and GOOD fishing info! Adam set me up with some tackle that was working well at the time, even told me a few good places to try, and his info was right on! Caught more Speckled Trout than I ever have before, and quite a few Bluefish as well. Took my fiancee and her boys back and rented kayaks a couple times… what a blast! This is a great little family run operation, run by very friendly folks. You feel genuinely welcome when you’re there! I’ll definitely be stopping by there again next time I’m in the area. Thanks very much!!!
This was a great place to rent a kayak. I had never kayaked before and was a bit nervous. One of the owners, Janine, was so helpful and encouraging. It was a great experience and I can’t wait to try it again. This location near the 206 bridge is great for both kayaking and fishing. The owners are very environmentally aware and are dedicated to maintaining clean water in the Matansas River and other Florida waters. They deserve your support!
We kayaked at Genung’s while spending spring break in St. Augustine! They were very helpful in getting us old folks in and out of the water in our double kayaks! Everyone was pleasant and we came back for a 2nd day!
Awesome family owned company with warm and friendly atmosphere. Cant wait to go bac
Great kayaking experience with the lowest prices around. The owner gave me some good advice on where people were catching the fish I was wanting to go for, and what bait people have been using. Also thought it was cool to find someone else from the Tampa Bay Area
A group of 5 ladies heard about Genungs Fish Camp and their kayaks to rent. We rented for $10 hour! Great price! All day rental $35. So helpful and pleasant to work with. We will definitely be back! And back we did go! Another great kayak trip. This is my go to place for renting kayaks!
Our vacation in St. Augustine was fabulous… in large part due to Genung Bait Shop. Being avid fishermen in Minnesota, we wanted to try our hand at surf fishing (fishing the ocean from the beach). I watched dozens of how-to YouTube videos but basic info was missing. The young couple at Genung Bait gave us all the info we needed to fish successfully. In fact, we bought EVERYTHING WE NEEDED from them for around $50!!!! (Rod, reel, bait, jigs, bucket and rod post). With their help, I bought my 3-day non-resident fishing license online on my cell phone for $17.00. We fished three days straight and caught Whiting, Blue, Mullot and Pompano!!! It was a blast!! We went to Genung Bait Shop four times to get more bait and more advise; they made us feel like we were part of the family!!! I hope they restocked their $35 surf fishing rods otherwise you readers are out of luck… we bought them all…then left them in our condo for the next vacationers
. SURF FISHING WAS A BLAST!!
